Computers are generally classified into different generations based on the technological advancements.
They used vacuum tubes invented by Sir John Ambrose Fleming.
They were very large in size had small internal storage and were very expensive.
Input was based on punched cards and paper tapes
Limitations:
Low operating speed
Very high power consumption
Large installation space
Limited potential to be programmed for tasks
Solving one problem at a time
Very Expensive
